Q5 is November and December. A season of celebration and reflection (thanks SHU).

I will probably do a more detailed plan each week but the big picture for November looks like the above.

November and December in education are kind of low key?… At least in my field – world language. In November I am working for 15 and a half days, due to Election Day, NJ educator convention, and Thanksgiving break.

Because of that I’ll be able to dedicate some time to myself- yoga, blogging, hiking, and reading. I could sign up for morning yoga lessons, instead of doing the evenings. I have to keep my eye on phone usage on these days, because phone… T is traveling for only one week. Oh, oh, oh, and there is NaBloPoMo 2024. I have not decided whether I will participate yet. Last year was A LOT and I was scrambling but it was still great.

December…

In December I am working for 15 days due to winter break which is 12 days this year.

I want to be mindful what I say yes to this December. I want to feel festive but not overwhelmed. Is that possible?.. I have ideas to visit Bryant park in NYC with the kids, do the Winter village shops, go to PA to see Santa… Schools will probably have their concerts (L already knows her winter concert date). Her 7th birthday party is also in December (albeit her actual birthday is at the end of November). We will also host Christmas dinner for our friends.

Christmas celebration season deserves its own post of course.

What are you most looking forward to in Q5?

I don’t think your plans sound too overwhelming. I have a few craft fairs that I want to attend, my mom is coming to stay for a couple of months so need to get ready for that, my daughter goes back to work so I will start babysitting the baby, Thanksgiving family gathering, and NaBloPoMo. In December I’ll put out all of my Christmas decorations, baking weekend with my girls, more craft fairs, maybe some Christmas lights and things with the babies (1 1/2 and 14 weeks in December) if their parents ask me to tag along, and who knows what else yet for Christmas Eve and Day. My son and DIL want to start their own traditions now the baby is a bit older and I totally agree. So that means we shift some of our usual things or start new ones as a bigger family. Fortunately I’m not stuck on having to do everything on the particular day, I’m more of a, as long as we are spending time together I’m happy, sort of person. I left out that I really want to get some sort of exercise program started, I keep saying it, but I need to get started. Even if it is only a 30 minute walk each day. But who knows how the next couple of months will shake out, I always go in to it thinking I have plenty of time but by the end of the year I’m wondering where all my time went.

You’ve got a lot planned, but I feel like that’s pretty typical this type of year! The main thing we’re doing is home renovations, which has been pretty stressful. We’re trying to hurry while we’ve got the <a href="http://<a href="https://www.redboxplus.com/west-phoenix/dumpster-rental-sun-city-az/">dumpster rentaldumpster rental so it’s like we’re in a tornado. It’s going to be so nice once we finish, but for now, it’s hectic! I hope everything on your list goes well!

Thanks Janet! Home renovation are stressful for sure… like living in a construction zone. It then it will look so nice.

The temptation to stay busy and do all of the things is real! I hope you find the perfect combination of busy and relaxation. Regarding NaBloPoMo, I think that as more people join, I will not be able to comment on every post every day. Just too much time. But I’m looking forward to it!

I’m looking forward to this time of year as well. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because there are no gifts or decorating expectations – you just show up, eat good food, and watch some football! And it’s a holiday we always spend with my family (and then we spend Christmas with Phil’s). I love Christmas, too, but I don’t love all the gifts and such that the season involves… we are kind of minimalists when it comes to gifts. But the boys inevitably get SO MANY GIFTS from extended family which I just kind of hate (which makes me a bit of a grinch but so be it…).

I’m most excited to take the boys to The Grinch at the children’s theater. That has become an annual tradition for us. Taco turns 4 in early December so we’ll have his family party the day after Thanksgiving since a lot of my family will be in town. So far he has requested hot dogs for his party… So maybe we will do brats and hot dogs or something? We’ll see. We were hoping he’d want pizza as that is so easy!

Looks like your schedule is giving a little more breathing room then the last two month… just reading through them made me tired.

I am looking forward to a weekend at the country home… even though it was cut a day short because the husband needs the car. And then I hope I am getting into the festive season because last yer I just couldn’t.

Haha! September and October were very hard! My dad has a country home in Russia and it is just lovely. Too bad it’s too far for us 😦

Your schedule sounds like fun – and I hope it is fun for you! This can be such a busy time of year, so you’re smart to make a plan and allow some down time.
