The station was flooded and we couldn’t go to Versailles! So we have to go on Thursday instead.
Also, the kids just barged through a huge puddle in the metro, so now their feet are soaking wet up to their ankles. I quickly found a Monoprix store (looked like the US version of Target?) and they got socks and shoes. I changed them out of their soaking shoes and we carried on.
When we come back, the soaked shoes went on top of the radiator, dirty clothes into the laundry. So today had a few bummers: Versailles pushed onto Thursday and an expense of new shoes and socks, paid 70 euros for all four.
For lunch I made store-bought raviolis. Then they took a nap and so did I. It was nice to nap together with the kids. While I want to explore so much, I also want to enjoy just being.
After our rest we went walking again- this time around Bastille neighborhood. Had crêpes! R- Nutella and whipped cream; L- honey and whipped cream and me- Nutella, banana and whipped cream.
Found an incredible playground in the Trousseau Square. Walked some more. Went into a stationary store. Came out with some journals, puzzles and stickers. Oh and passed by Rue Cremieux with its colorful houses. Took the metro back to our apartment, had store-bought soup and hotdogs.
All in all, it turned out to all be okay. Tomorrow we have Palais Garnier and a circus performance!
