Daily habits: 20+ min walk 🟢 only one cup of coffee 🟢 meditation 🟢 writing 🟢 healthy breakfast 🟢 connect (talked to dad+going to NYE bonfire) 🟢

Today was just a wonderful day. It’s our second-to-last day before we all go back to work and school. Similar to other winter break days, the kids were up early (around 6AM), had breakfast and played together for a bit. I then took a nice long walk to our local CVS with L to get some cough syrup. There and back, I want to say, is about 2.5 miles so a nice distance.

Came back, had breakfast, packed R up in the car and went hiking with him in a beautiful natural reserve we have here in NJ. And although the day was gray and overcast, it was nice to get out for a hike – just R and me. Hiked/walked for an hour, came home, R collapsed in a heap (#yessss) and I started watching May December movie on Netflix. Got bored with the movie, went upstairs, meditated for 15 minutes, researched some travel.

The nature reserve was so quiet… Except some bird sounds here and there. Just lovely!

Talked to dad and aunt in Russia, they were about to ring in the new year because of the time difference. We are heading out soon to a Russian friend who is gathering all Russian-speaking (but not necessarily Russian) folks and their kids for a nice celebration and a bon fire 🙂

Happy New Year to all of you! See you all in 2024!

Good job!! Off to a good start and the new year hasn’t even started yet. Since we have been traveling I haven’t really had true alone time to sit down and figure out my goals for 2024. I have done a bit of brainstorming but I am planning to basically just hold off until we get home next weekend and then sit down and work it all out.

Only one cup of coffee?? SOB. Ha. That nature reserve looks so cool! And L was a good sport to walk 2.5 miles! Paul would need to take his scooter. He gets tired sooo fast.

We went to the children’s museum this morning and then over to my MIL’s for lunch and this dice game that we usually play on Christmas but pushed to this weekend. The boys were TERRIBLE at her house though. Just horribly rowdy and wild. I am sure she was glad when we left!!

    That nature reserve looks gorgeous.

I am already in bed (it’s 8:21 pm local time; so my NYE plans are not very celebratory…but I’m 100% okay with that!).

Looking forward to following your blog/life in 2024.

What a lovely, low-key NYE! I also talked to my family in the afternoon who were ringing in the new year because of the time difference. 🙂
