Health. Last night I took the turn for the worst. I’ll spare you the unbloggable details but it has to do with stomach upset. This morning… Body aches, and terrible, terrible cough. After some DayQuil and Mucinex I felt marginally better.

T is also sick but a tad bit better. Or he is muscling through because of me being almost completely out of commission. The kids will probably end up watching more cartoons that usual today. Oh well.

Currently, R is reading books on Khan Academy, and L is watching Frozen. I am dying on the inside because I think kids should not have lots of screen time. But on the other hand, chill out, Daria. There are much worse things they could be doing. At least ABC mouse (free from library) and Khan Academy are *somewhat* educational.

Starting to feel behind a bit, too. In terms of next week. I must, I repeat, I must show up to work for the two and a half days that our district is open. I already took three days off last week so I absolutely must crawl into work tomorrow. Hence me staying in bed pretty much all day today. My focus is on recovery.

I continue to fall behind with keeping up with the blogs during #NaBloPoMo2023. So many interesting people, so many different lives. There are days when I am scrambling to write something- something- so I don’t break the chain. I’ve made it this far. I have not pre-written anything and all my posts are sort of in the moment writing. Maybe next year I’ll plan a bit better.

I wish everyone a wonderful Sunday!

Oh, Daria, I hope the rest will work wonders, and you will feel much better tomorrow. Don’t worry too much about the screen time. There are days when this is okay, and I believe today is one of those days (I apply this to long airplane rides as well)! I feel this is also something that gets easier as the kids get older – they don’t get sick as much, and therefore don’t pass it on to you and they are busy with themselves more anyway.

First I am hoping you will feel better soon.
And don’t stress your self. Life happens away from the computer and if you can’t manage that is all good. I am sure once there is more time you’ll be back. Hang in there.

I am so sorry you’re feeling so crappy. I hope you get the rest that you need to get through this week. And please don’t stress about NaBloPoMo… I know there is the “so much to read/comment on, so little time” dilemma. We all feel it. Just know: you’re doing great!

I agree, cut yourself a huge helping of slack regarding screen time. You need to focus on feeling better. Mucinex can really be a game changer for some coughs, can’t it?

Life has been getting in the way of my blogging lately too. I pre-wrote most of my posts, but reading and commenting, I’m behind on that. Sigh. We’re all just doing our best!

Oh no, I hope you’re starting to feel better. A few days of a bit more screen time is not terrible for your kids, you definitely need to prioritise getting better. The time zone changes have been interesting trying to get the posting right. I think I am one post behind … but maybe not according to US time. I will probably try to post one in the morning and one in the evening to try to get it right.

    That candle looks wonderful.
And I FEEL THIS POST TODAY. I am just so, so tired. Life has been overwhelming lately and I’ve been cutting as much out as possible to give margin, but today has just felt…hard.
Tomorrow is a new day, but it’s good to know that I’m not the only one struggling.

Hope you’re feeling better soon ❤ Stomach bugs are THE WORST!

I hope you are feeling better! I can’t believe you are still posting though…I barely have time to write one post a week and then keep up with the comments, reading and commenting on other blogs and coming back to see if they responded…it can go downhill fast. Sometimes I just mark all as read and start afresh!

Cut yourself MAJOR SLACK on the screen time. It will not impact the kids. I promise. Paul watched SO MUCH TV when he was home with us for 7 weeks at the beginning of the pandemic. It did not seem to impact him at all! We lean on screens when we aren’t feeling well or the kids aren’t feeling well. It’s just a necessary way to get through the day.

I hope you start to feel better so you can enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday. It is so tough to have a long stretch of illness. This fall was absolutely horrible for us, especially Phil since he got pneumonia and has a fractured rib from all of the coughing. I was not as sick but was plenty sick myself. It’s rough!!

You poor thing! The fact that you are able to keep up with NaBloPoMo while dealing with a stomach bug is commendable! Please don’t fret too much about being behind. We’re still here writing, and we understand that it’s hard to get to everyone’s posts. You’re doing great! And I haven’t prewritten anything, either. Flying by the seat of my pants over here!
