R is sick. I’ll spare you the details, but if you know anything about kids and stomach bugs… It’s not pretty. It’s gross. T is away on business, and so I had to take off today so bring R to the pediatrician.

Feeling thankful for my generous sick day package yet again. Today was largely spent taking care of my son. Bathing him at 1AM when he threw up all over himself. Washing the sheets, the pillow, and his blanket. Feeding him breakfast. Playing cars. Hugs and snuggles. Feeling thankful, very thankful, for the privilege of a warm house, medication, of visiting a doctor on a moments’ notice. A privilege of a hard-working washing machine that can use extra hot water and a dryer that doesn’t complain.

Waiting at the pediatrics this morning

He is so precious looking, but stomach bugs are the WORST. Hoping he feels better ASAP. And that no one else gets it ❤

Ah, poor little guy. I hope he feels better. Must be so hard on your mama-heart. (And you’re right – he looks like you :))

What a cutie! I’m sorry about the barf bed. I hope it was just something he ate so he’s fine by tomorrow.

Ug, I hope he is feeling better soon! I can’t remember the last time I was sick like that; it was probably when I was about his age, but I remember hating it. I actually did not love staying home from school, despite the fact that I got to each chicken noodle soup and watch Star Wars!

Awww YUCK! Honestly there is nothing worse than a kid sick with a stomach bug. It’s even worse than having the bug yourself, for obvious reasons. Hope he’s better by now! The only perk to those is that usually they are short lived….

Oh that is tough. Hope R feels better soon and you get a break from taking care of a sick kid. No fun.
But I like how you can see the privilege in it and be grateful.

Poor R and poor mama! We had a middle of the night stomach bug earlier this fall and it is such a brutal thing to deal with in the middle of the night! I hope you and L stay healthy!

He is such a handsome guy. Poor thing. Stomach bugs – is there anything worse? You’re right – a washing machine is a real blessing.
