Yesterday I got a notification from Word press: “congratulations on your 100th post!” It felt good to see that I have kept up writing and making myself part of this wonderful community of bloggers.
I decided to make a list of reasons why I decided to start blogging in March of 2023.
- I like the actual physical feeling of writing – be it on pen to paper, or fingers to keyboard. It feels good to me.
- I like the act of getting thoughts (no matter how trivial or insignificant) from my brain and into my journal or blog.
- Blogging and journalling gives me a feeling of accomplishment. Writing even the smallest paragraph or a post from start to finish feels productive.
- Blogging gives me a sense of community and belonging. I read my fellow bloggers as much as I can and they read my page- so we all stay in touch, even if it’s just once or twice a week.
- Blogging grounds me and makes me stop and think. Smell the roses, look up at the sky. Plus, ANY kind of reflection is great.
- Blogging creates a continuous narrative: kids grow, I get older, change happens, seasons come and go but posts stay frozen on Word press.
- It’s a nice way to pass time! It’s a wonderful hobby that provides processing, reflection and community.
