Happy Halloween! Today was a fun-filled day. I went to work as a butterfly, taught, had a hot dog, a pickle, a rat, a chef, a pilot, a cow, a Spider-Man, a cat, and other characters in my class. Left work a little early to see L’s parade in the afternoon.
We went trick-or-treating around 4. My neighbor L knows everyone in town so we had a crowd of about 15 adults and many kids. It was fun to trick-or-treat with a big crowd of people. After a while I went back home so I can give out candy, and T and the kids continued with trick-or-treating.
I’m feeling thankful that my kids are making such great childhood memories. Just today, they both had Halloween parades at their respective schools, came home with treats and toys, and went to knock on doors and get candy with a group of friends – all dressed up in fun costumes. How amazing is that?
Growing up in Russia and being homeschooled, I’ve never experienced Halloween as a child. And yes, it is not a “real” holiday, it has pagan roots, kids load up on sugar, blah blah, true, true. But L and R had a wonderful time today, and for that I am thankful.
