1. Finished my book! “The Trauma Cleaner” by Sarah Krastostein is about a real transgender woman who overcomes tremendous difficulties in life to find herself an owner of a cleaning business that cleans spaces affected by murder, suicide, hoarding and squalor. A long book but I felt connected to Sandra (the main character). Australian.

2. T is on the red eye right now meaning my week of solo parenting is (almost) over. T will get the kids from school this afternoon so I can have some time to myself. Thinking a manicure and a pedicure after work.

3. Cooler weather is here!! Left a few windows open overnight and woke up to the smells of fall. Lit a candle this morning while I read during the Golden hour.

4. Thinking of my friends who are celebrating Ross Hashanah today. May your new year be so sweet! 🍯🍎

5. MacDonalds for dinner yesterday. We went to get gas after school pick up and the kids convinced me to do MacDonalds for dinner. We never get MacDonalds but I admit I do enjoy their chicken nuggets 😜 so we went. Ate, played, laughed. This is a cute little MacDonalds in our town. Clean and friendly. No dishes!

And, how was your week?

Enjoy your solo time! I could use a pedicure. I usually only get them before I travel somewhere warm, but I feel like my feet could use a refresh now after all these months of wearing sandals. Love the coffee/blanket/candle pic! I should light my first fall candle today. I have a battery operated candle in my office that I turn on every morning (no scent! Just gives off the cozy light and really appears to flicker.) It’s a nice, quick option but I do like to light real candles sometimes, too. Though sometimes after a while the strong scents kind of get to me! And I used to take my boys to the McDonald’s playland all the time when they were little! It was so nice to have an indoor, enclosed space for them to play and I could just sit and observe, putter around making a to-do list or things like that.

Yay! You made it through the week of solo parenting!! Glad you got some time to yourself today, too.

I had a really busy week training my new hire. I had a ton of meetings on top of that. I just wish work would slow down a bit since training someone makes everything take like 5 times longer, but training him right is important and worth it.

I finally got my travel figured out for next week! I will be staying in Woodbridge and have meetings kind of all over – Summit, Westfield, Floral Park (I think?) and Red Bank. It’s going to be a busy couple of days!

That sounds like a good week! Especially the manicure and pedicure. I keep meaning to do that, and I keep forgetting. My daughter got me a gift certificate for a facial for Mother’s Day, and I haven’t used it yet. I think that should happen SOON.

I ended up only doing the toes since color doesn’t last on my hands, ever. Still, felt amazing and it’s weird, but my pumpkin 🎃 colored toes make me… kind of happy 😊

Oh, I’m so glad to hear that your week of solo parenting is coming to an end and you get some solo time finally! Always nice when there is a light at the end of a tunnel. I hope you went for that mani-pedi! That sounds like a perfect way to reward yourself after this week!

It’s been a bit cooler here this week too and while we’re still weeks away from actual “fall weather”, I’ve been enjoying the cooler morning air.
