Not good news… My dad, who lives in Russia, and the one and only link I have to Russia, had a stroke.

His left side is not functioning.

Good news. Andrei, his grandson, my brother’s youngest son, my nephew, has gotten in touch with me.

I am in a limbo. The logistics of traveling to Russia right now is… burdensome, to say the least. Taking off work at the end of the year as a teacher is… hard.

Andrei (my nephew) has an appointment with his attending doctor tomorrow. I may need to go to Russia for a while to take care of him. If it’s longer than a week, I will be bringing the kids since I cannot be away from them for longer than a week.

Please send whatever you can: light, energy, prayers, words, anything…

Oh Daria. This is so sad and hard.
I am hoping by now five days later you have some clarity and your dad is on the mend.
I can only assume the burden traveling to Russia right now would entail and specially if it is for some longer time.

Sending strength and good vibes your way.

Daria, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I know this comment is late, I am catching up after my own travels overseas… and I am hoping desperately to see some good news as I catch up on your blog! Thinking of you. I know this is one of the most stressful situations for someone who lives abroad.
