Just listened to Laura Tremaine’s “10 things to tell you” episode 245 and I want my morning routine back.
I used to have a very rigid morning routine called “The Golden Hour.” I would be up at 3:30, read, have coffee, write three pages free hand (The Artist’s Way morning pages), meditate, do yoga, plan the day, and be completely ready to go by 6:30AM.
I miss the feeling of accomplishment that routine gave me.
Right now I am up at around 5:30 and that is when R is up, too, sooo…It goes more like this: up at 5:30, go downstairs, make coffee, make breakfast for R, and sometimes even L, scroll, talk to T briefly, get ready, and it’s 7AM. My contractual time is at 7:30 so I have to be out of the door by 7AM.
Can I get back to 4AM wake ups? I used to love them, then I got lazy.
Will try tomorrow. You can hold me accountable!
I want the routine to look something like this. And my phone should not be anywhere NEAR me during that time.
1. silence: 5 minutes
2. morning pages: 10 minutes
3. reading: 20 minutes
4. weights: 10 minutes
5. meditation: 10 minutes
Sounds doable, right? I will let you know if I can do it. Wish me luck.

What are your mornings like?
