After a super moody weekend, the week is going quite well. I feel calmer, I guess my hormones have stabilized. Here are some of the little things I appreciate:
My new furry vest! I bit the bullet and purchased something for myself. I mainly wear it at work because our school building can be unpredictable. We lost heat yesterday for a few hours, and I do NOT like to be cold. But teaching in a heavy winter jacket is uncomfortable, so the vest is perfect.
A date with T on Saturday night. We have struggled with finding a reliable sitter for date nights and haven’t had a date since… August?… But finally, finally, we have one, she is amazing, the kids love her and we will be using her quite a bit.
Placing an online pick up order at Stop and Shop was wonderful. I don’t know why we don’t do it every week. On Sunday, I went through my pantry and refrigerator, pinpointed what we have, determined what we need and purchased what we need. Shopped more meaningfully, actually got vegetables, and felt like I spent less. I’ll do it again!
My #SecretSANta2023 gift from Lindsay! A beautiful *feline good* mug, chocolates, and kitty tree ornaments. The kids were so excited, they placed them on the tree right away. Thank you Lindsay, I very much look forward to getting to know you!
R and L. I wrote many times on here that I struggle with parenting in terms of being impatient and reactive with my kids. But little moments with them really are so precious. Yesterday R and I read in his room before bed, we do it every night, but it was extra funny and cute.
Sky. Just sky. Any weather, any day or night. Sunny or overcast. Just appreciating the sky. I look up a lot these days, when I look up, I take a deep breath and think “all is well, all is well.”
