1. A new book! For my birthday, I got The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. Been flying through it-it is THAT good. A very thought-provoking novel that made me think of my own “book of regrets.”
  2. Pockets of sunshine. After a terribly rainy weekend I was happy to see that o Monday, the sun peeked out. Throughout the week, NJ continued to receive its share of rain, with intermittent moments of sunshine. The weekend promises to have temperatures in the high seventies, so I’m going to do some gardening.
  3. Added a screen time widget to my iPhone home screen- that will help with screen time monitoring. Issue: I often read on my iPhone because I have a terrible habit of misplacing my Kindle.
  4. The Golden Hour: a pat on the back for myself for sticking with my morning routine, aka the Golden Hour. Meditation, journal, reading.
  5. Received a card from a student of mine saying thank you and outlining how much he learned this year. And this was a student who struggles in my class. I appreciated it so much.

How about you? Any favorite things over the course of this week? Small or big? I would love to hear about them.

A friend came over for lunch yesterday. She lives in another state, but was in town for work, so I felt really lucky to be able to see her!

The weather has finally turned here, too. We have sunny skies and 70s today and I am living my best life in sandals and a dress. Yard work will be on the agenda for the weekend.

Yard work here, too! Weeding, planting, no watering (tons of rain lately). Seventy and sunny is amazing!

We also had weird weather over the last week! Last Thursday (April 27) it was 94 degrees, and then it got cool and was in the 40s this week, and rainy! Make up your mind, spring (or summer?)!! I don’t really want it to be that hot, but a nice smooth week of 70s would be great.

This weekend I am going to a professional soccer game on Saturday and baseball on Sunday, which are both outside, so I hope it is nice. After this weekend, I feel like I will have already met my sports viewing quota for the year!! 🙂 It just happened to work out that way!

Whoa, 94! Here in NJ we get that in the summer, for sure. The weekend sounds lovely, have a wonderful time!

I read The Midnight Library a while ago and I liked it, but I know that this books has a lot of mixed reviews. Interesting, no?

This week has been a mix of weird weather (as Kyria said – she doesn’t live too far from me, so we get the same weather patterns mostly).

I enjoyed that book more than I expected. it’s a fun concept and made me reflect to appreciate more.
such a sweet letter. didn’t know you are a teacher. for which grade? I went to teacher conference last Friday and was at school for 2 hours for both girls and I really admire teachers to be surrounded by so many kids so many hours everyday. wowooooo

Good morning! I teach high school so my students are almost into adulthood. But they are still kids and love to play and have fun.
