I only managed to read a total of 5 books this month. I would say that’s the average for me. The problem is, I’ve been heavily leaning on Feedly and podcasts but feel like I need to step away for a bit in favor of novels or audio books.

This actually makes me sad that I only read 5 books this month

1. Curated closet by Anuschka Rees. A quick, light read about how to reimagine your closet. Good reflection questions, some soul searching.

2. Lost Connections by Johann Hari. In essence, how to climb out of depression without (or in addition to) meditation. A long, dense book, full of research data intertwined with case studies. Makes a good point to invest in yourself: build community of other humans, spend time in nature, find meaningful work, and other “missing parts” in our lives. In general, the book painted quite a negative picture of psychiatrists and anti- depressants.

I read the Davis book this month and really enjoyed it – I thought it was so helpful and clever to write things in short chapters with “shortcuts.” And her focus on moral neutrality and reframing things are care tasks instead of chores was lovely.

Oooh! I have read 1, 3, and 5! I liked them all, even though they are all very different. I preferred These Precious Days by Ann Patchett though.
