Inspired by fellow mom bloggers, here it goes: five things on a Friday!

  1. Gardened after work this week. Watered new seedlings, placed soil into some pots, and fertilized bushes. Raked, cleaned up, and fed roses. It felt good to be outside and to be productive. During the colder seasons, I come home, and hole up inside with tea and a book. But I really forgot how much I love gardening.

2. My reading has increased. I’ve bee leaning heavily on Feedly lately, reading the posts of fellow bloggers and books kind of fell by the way side. That was bothering me. This week I finally finished “Lost Connections” by Johann Hari as well as “How to Keep House While Drowning” by KC Davis. Also, started a new book by Ann Patchett.

3. Daily morning meditations and writing morning pages – continued, no surprise here. Insight Timer has been my go-to app for meditating since September of 2017.

Fell off a wagon in DK but picked it back up

4. Stopping by the local Asian Food Market was a win on Wednesday. On a whim, I got a roasted duck, bok choi, a variety of shumai and dumpling buns (inspired by Kung Fu panda, my kids said). I absolutely have to go back since I didn’t have time to browse the store on Wednesday just got what I saw for a quick dinner and got out. Half a roasted duck was not cheap ($18!) but we ended up having a dinner (3 people) and I still brought it as lunch to work. It was delicious!

5. Parenting win: ever since the weather turned relatively warm, both kids have been playing outside a lot. I warms my heart because I grew up playing outside. I saw them doing the playset, the swing, the sandpit, and building something with sticks and rocks on the far side of the yard. I am so glad we finished the fence-now they can play and we have a peace of mind.

Another bonus: no more deer!!
