Happy Saturday, all!
This past week both of my kids were in camp so I had plentiful time for myself. And it was glorious. However, at the end of the day I was getting antsy and missing them.
I remember thinking on Monday, as I dropped the kids off at two different camps (L- cheer and tumbling camp; R- the YMCA camp), “don’t fart your time away this week.”
What I did..
1 met up with friends: twice! First with my sister-friend H on Tuesday, just the two of us; second, my sister-friend B was gathering people for a Friday night potluck.

2 Exercise. My son’s summer camp was at the local YMCA. So after I dropped him off I stayed to do weights. Three times.
3 Reading. I went to the library on Monday, to look at some books and to plan Q4. The book on perimenopause caught my attention because #Iaminit. So I snagged it up and speed-read it.

4 HRT update. The new patch has been glued on. Progesterone at night continues. No headaches anymore! Don’t feel any different in regard to mood but it’s only been a week.
5 Cooking. It’s amazing how cooking can be so much more enjoyable when 1. one is not working, 2. one has time to follow the recipe, and 3. the house is empty and quiet. I made Alsace salad one day, Greek salad for Friday and zucchini and mozzarella sandwiches with sweet pepper tapenade mid week. Ever since I bought the two cookbooks, I’ve been eating a largely plant-based diet.
6 Kids’ activities. I think we have settled our kids’ activities angst:
My daughter: gymnastics, all year, three times a week (Wednesday, Friday, Saturday)
My son: BJJ, all year, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturday: gymnastics class.
Both: aftercare+swim lessons.
I feel good about this set up. The only thing that is a little worrisome is L’s Wednesday Gymnastics class: it’s from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. I think she will be okay but it is a LONG day.
Speaking of gymnastics, she finished up her cheerleading and tumbling camp and they had a performance on Friday afternoon!

Meanwhile, my son had a “color run” on Friday at his summer camp to wrap up the week. He was covered in all different colors. What a blast!

Next week… T is traveling for business so it’ll be me and kids! I hope you all had a great week and an even better weekend!
