This weekend I was home. ALONE.
T took the kids to see his nana (their great nana) in Massachusetts. They went overnight, leaving on Saturday morning and coming back on Sunday late morning.

You guys. It was SO unbelievably great to be in the house, alone. I needed this time and space.
Let’s see what I did!
Saturday
🐿️ I mended a few articles of clothing – annoying pebbles in the shoe that just was hanging over me: a missing button on my white blouse, a hole in my joggers, and a hem on my beige work trousers.
🐿️ I spent some time planning activities for our North Italy and the Dolomites trip. I got some good local ideas for Venice and Bardolino (lake Garda). Still need to research the Dolomites region, Bologna and Ravenna regions. I made great progress but still there are things to research
🐿️ I started “the Relaxed Woman” again- a re-read for me. This time I am slowly doing the suggested reflections.
🐿️ I exercised. I am following Dr Sims exercise suggestions for perimenopausal women so the workouts are shorter, heavier and have very little cardio.
🐿️ I met up with friends. Totally last minute but it’s funny how things work out. My sister friend H is moving back to Denmark and it looks like it may be sooner than anticipated. I will miss her SO much.

🐿️ when I came back home from my friend outing, I planned some more, journaled free style, took notes on a few podcasts (jotted down ideas I heard but was driving).
🐿️ made some decisions on my traditional IRA – rebalanced, got rid of some deadweight funds.
👆Connected to the above: I just recently also rebalanced my 403b and my regular brokerage account.
🐿️ Saturday was over with me in bed around 8pm, with my audio book, journal and open windows. I vegged out for about an hour, but because I took Ashwagandha root, I was soon sleeping.
Sunday
🐿️ up, a glass of water, coffee and more vegging out, reading and journaling
🐿️ cleaned the downstairs floors with my signature favorite Murphy’s oil and vacuumed
🐿️ called mom
🐿️ worked a little on my puzzle
When T came back with the kids, I told him that I think I need this house to myself more often. Having a place to yourself is just so great. The silence. The space. Something I can’t quite explain. It’s glorious.
The rest of Sunday was kind of typical: the kids were back, I folded (kind of) a mountain of laundry. Then neighborhood kids came over so it was trampoline and garden hose fun.
