I have been very out of the loop in the blogo-sphere. This was a solo parenting week (Monday through Thursday) plus work, plus activities. I also have been reading this:

And listening to this:

Been also trying to reduce my time on my phone and I mainly read blogs on my phone (through Feedly). Unfortunately, this is very typical: I read a post, want to comment, get interrupted, save the post in “read later” and never come back to it. I wonder if I should dedicate 15 minutes per day to reading/commenting?… Like, a protected time?

Mother’s Day was awesome. We went to our favorite diner as a family in the morning then I went to the gym to lift some weights.

Then I spent the day doing my new puzzle, reading and overall just lounging around. The puzzle twisted my brain into a pretzel because the pieces where shaped as creatures/objects/swirls and not your typical jigsaw puzzle 🧩 shapes.

A cat!
Trippy!

On Monday I had jury duty but got dismissed pretty quickly. I went home and had some alone time in the house- reading, tidying and pattering around.

I then picked up the kids and went to DSW Shoes to get them new shoes: sneakers for R, sandals for L. L grew out of her last year’s sandals and R keeps getting very frustrated with his sneakers that just would NOT stay tied. Those were hand-me-downs, so he got new sneakers.

On Tuesday it was BJJ time. On Wednesday L had her piano lesson. Stopped by Wawa, got a chai latte, sat in the car and started this post.

All in all, there is absolutely nothing new and exciting in my life right now. BUT! all is well, everyone is healthy and we have jobs. That is all that matters.

This weekend…

Tonight my husband and I have a movie date! We both love horror movies so seeing Obsession.

On Saturday…exercise for me, gymnastics for the kids, laundry (of course). And library.

Sunday, exercise for me. Reading. May start my “scream” cat puzzle.

How was your week?

Oh yes, I know that feeling of “there’s nothing interesting in my life right now.” Your Mother’s Day sounds really nice! That puzzle… is it harder or easier than a regular puzzle? I’m trying to imagine it, but I’m having trouble.

Sometimes it is VERY hard to keep up with blog reading and commenting. We should all just agree to the idea that we’re thinking of each other, even if we haven’t commented in a while.

Enjoy your weekend! It sounds really nice.

Jenny, so true. I want to be a good “blog friend” but sometimes life gets in the way. I need to be better.

Daria I am so impressed with your consistent exercise routine!! I remember when I first “met” you you repeatedly complained about exercising at all really, and now look at you!

Haha, you are right- I remember I used to HATE exercise, and now I just do it. Just do it. I would say that now my relationship with exercise is more neutral- like brushing teeth or eating- something that I do every week.

I have a goal to leave five comments a day. That’s usually 15 or so minutes of dedicated blog time. Unfortunately, I only reach that goal about 2/3 of the time, but at least I think about it every day! It’s hard to prioritize when there are immediate things that need to get done, but I know that I appreciate engagement on my blog, so I try to reciprocate!

I love that. Anyone has 15 minutes. I’m gonna steal this goal…

Wow that puzzle looks so so so hard! I would probably get rather frustrated working on it but it will be a great sense of accomplishment when it is done!

Phil solo patented M-Th, too. Paul started baseball so they had a busy week. Taco starts t-ball this week but will miss a lot of sessions between having swimming lessons one of the 2 nights and other conflicts. But oh well! He’s excited to start!

Wow, that puzzle! I’m afraid that I often read blog posts in my email, and then I don’t remember to go comment. BAH. But it’s difficult to keep up otherwise, and I love my blog friends, so I don’t want to not read, so we all do our best.

    I hope you’re having a relaxing weekend.

I *completely* get the thing about commenting on blogs. I find it impossible to write a comment unless I am at my desktop with the real keyboard. This means I sometimes miss my chance to comment in a timely manner (like this comment!). Protected time sounds like a good philosophy but I have to wonder if it exists in real life.

I love the inventive shapes of the puzzle pieces.

Hope you are enjoying the weekend, especially after a lengthy time of solo parenting.

I’ve never seen a puzzle like that. It looks hard. I put blog posts I want to comment on in my inbox in Reader and mainly comment when I am on my computer. I prefer typing on my keyboard.

Something it’s quite nice if nothing new and exciting happening LOL that’s always better than if something bad happens. 😉 It sounds like you’ve been stepping away a little bit and that is good sometimes. I am curious to see the puzzle in progress. Such cool pieces.

I have the same issue with keeping up with blogging/commenting, and I don’t even have kids! You do a lot of solo parenting and you have a busy job outside the home, so no wonder. I like Engie’s goals of 5 comments per day. I should set something like that because sometimes I just see my overrun feed and get overwhelmed, lol.

I am not a very good blog friend with what is happening in real life and I skipped church today in order to take some time to catch up. I missed my blog friends.

My last week was hard. All weeks seem hard lately and I have no kids.

That puzzle looks absolutely crazy amazing. I would love to help you do it and chat a little while we do.
