It feels like I just wrote my “goodbye January; hello, February” post. And yet, here we are in MARCH.
February was a mixed bag of good and hard.
The FIG collective (I have read them all with pleasure but I fell off the wagon with participation)
Lots of snow and snow days
Some solo parenting
Hamnet (movie and book)
My husband’s birthday
Physical therapy for my right knee
Morning workouts – a new, rather hard, habit.
World language conference in NYC
A date night with Indian food and a movie at the house while the kids were at our local recreation center

New hair cut and color- took out my greys
An off-broadway play in NYC
New passports arrived
Swimming laps – alone and with kids
A nasty cold that lasted for about two weeks
A red blazer

Annual physicals for both kids and clean bill of health for both!
A play date for my daughter with her friend from aftercare
An overall sense of overwhelm, especially on weekdays
Struggles with what to do about summer but reaching clarity shortly after and:
Booking tickets to Italy (Venice, the Dolomites, lake Garda, Bologna, Adriatic coast, and back to Venice).
Struggles with my father’s deteriorating mental health (after his stroke in May of last year). My brother and mother are looking to move him into a center where he will receive the support he needs, physically and mentally.
Reaching out to friends (rather haphazardly).
March
In March I am hoping to:
Celebrate St. Patrick’s day (corned beef and cabbage, Guinness, a leprechaun trap from last year, maybe even green milk 😉
Diana Krall’s concert (this is a maybe, the tickets are $$)
Irish dancing performance with my daughter (also a maybe)
Spring break in South Carolina. The district sent out a memo: “hey guys, we used up all of our snow days, soooo just fyi, if it snows again…” So far, so good- but it cannot snow anymore!
A science fair for both kids. My daughter’s project is “Making Scents” and my son’s project is about maglev train, “Floating on Magnets”

International women’s day, 03/08
Asia Society of NYC has a new exhibit- opens 03/18, I want to take the kids and have a day in NYC
The whole week of state testing at work- major BLAHHH
Daylight saving time – also blahhhhh
Hoping for warmer weather
Continue morning exercise
Compile strategies from conference into ONE place and decide to what to implement and when.
I have been writing this post since the weekend so I am pressing “publish”!
