Time flies, and I don’t know how to slow it down. Just yesterday we were getting ready for Thanksgiving 2024, and tomorrow is Thanksgiving 2025.

I had a really relaxing afternoon.

Today we had an abbreviated day at the school. I wish I could only work from 7:30 till 12:30. Wouldn’t that be nice? But, I’m too restless and money-hungry to go part-time. Plus, not sure if it’s even possible with teaching..

Today was fluffy, and easy, and fun. My students did a loving-kindness meditation for 15 minutes and watched Street Foods Latin America- in Spanish. It was good! Food intertwined with the life stories of the people.

I then came back home at around 1pm, made lunch, and watched an Argentine movie called “the Son” (El Hijo). It was a suspenseful thriller. I mainly enjoyed listening to the Argentine accent but the plot was nice and twisted, too.

After the movie, read a bit of my “Kill Creek” book (I abandoned it after it expired, read two other books, then resumed it). I’m 80% in and will finish it this weekend. Maybe even tonight.

I then proceeded to take a delicious nap in the den for about 20 minutes. T was clanking dishes in the kitchen so I got up and made some tea.

Tonight we really have nothing, and I’m loving it. The kids are in aftercare till about 5pm. We will have dinner, shower, L will do piano, and read some books. Will probably watch a Christmas movie and play.

A moody morning (weather, not me)

This month I am participating in #NaBloPoMo2025. A running list of participants can be found on San’s NaBloPoMo page as well as more information about this lovely initiative on this NaBloPoMo page.

Your afternoon sounds wonderful! I am glad you read and rested! I worked but it was so quiet so I mostly worked in the morning. Then I spent hours cleaning and cutting veggies for the veggie tray, made 2 dips, and made GF leaf-shapes Gf sugar cookies (which were a PITA! I will never make them again!! The dough was so sticky.). Then I laid down because I was in quite a bit of pain in the finger that I had surgery on in January. It just cannot handle a long stretch of cutting things. Sigh.

We had no activities tonight so we finished the last 45 minutes of Mary Poppins. We watched the first 1.5 hours of it a few weeks ago. I forgot there was a bank run scene so I tried to explain the fractional reserve banking system to Paul. lol. I don’t think he understood but it’s a complicated concept! And now taco is in bed and we’ll do our evening family read shortly.

Happy Thanksgiving! It sounds like you had a lovely day.

Work was super busy for me from 8 until about 2, then everything slowed down, so I was able to concentrate on making a few dishes. Cranberry sauce, goat cheese mashed potatoes, and sweet potato pudding. Feeling so much more relaxed now.
