Summer of 2022. I was visiting a good friend of mine in Poland. I stayed with her for about 7 days in her house in the country. This was my first major trip alone, without the kids. In his picture, we were having lunch made with local eggs and produce.

Do you have a random memory to share?

This month I am participating in #NaBloPoMo2025. A running list of participants can be found on San’s NaBloPoMo page as well as more information about this lovely initiative on this NaBloPoMo page.

I was trying to find a photo of a little table on my deck to post on my blog, and I did a search for patio furniture. My google photos shared a photo of my son’s puppy when he lived with us. He was on top of the patio table, as if that was the most acceptable thing in the world to do. That random memory made me chuckle.

I love the thought of visiting a friend overseas (I have good friends in Ireland who I rarely get to see and don’t hear from much) without kids (or honestly with my kids). Sounds so relaxing.

I was thinking of when I went away on a trip without my kids, and one of the few times I’ve done that was when I went to Ecuador for 10 days. During that trip, I spent a night at a hot springs, and a remember lying in the hot water of the pool, outside my private room that night. It had taken me hours to get to the spot, and I was almost regretting that I had gone, but lying in that hot water, looking up at the stars, I was really glad I went.
