Motivation has been lacking for me this past week, month, season?… Year? I am most unmotivated around my luteal phase, when I am stressed/overwhelmed, and when I don’t have anything to look forward to.
I shouldn’t be giving advice on motivation therefore this post is self-serving. Usually -usually – these things work for me. But I also have to keep in mind sometimes it’s not lack of motivation, rather, it’s because I’m so bloody tired.
1. do something small – put the dish into the dishwasher, make the bed, wipe the counter, reorganize my work bag. Align the shoes in the closet. Tidy up my desk at work.
2. go outside and take a nice sip of air, a few times. Feel the cold on my face.
3. deadlines. Yep, deadlines work well for me.
4. my future self. I visualize that future Daria and do things the night before.
5. values. I think some of the motivation comes from my overall life values. Travel, education, self-discipline, family, presence..
Extra credit: seeing role models. Not celebrities or influencers but real people, like friends or fellow bloggers. People with energy, self-discipline and drive.
