Read. Since it’s Saturday I’ve had pockets of time, in the morning, in the afternoon, and after dinner. I’m currently reading Names by Florence Knapp. A heartbreaking book but I’m flying through it.

Yoga. In the morning the kids were at gymnastics so I’ve had some uninterrupted time. I did yoga and some weights.

Tea. I drink tea throughout the day, and, in spite of having caffeine, it’s good for my soul. Warm and comforting.

A call to my parents. WhatsApp no longer works for calls/videos so I have to use a good old phone card to make calls to Russia. Mom and I talked for about 30 minutes.

Nature. The kids and I made our annual field trip to Bath and Body Works where we purchased some seasonal candles. Then we went hiking in the Great Swamp which is not too far from the candle store. It was cold but we enjoyed it. Hard to believe but the trees at the reserve were almost all bare.

Do you have any glimmers to share from today?

This month I am participating in #NaBloPoMo2025. A running list of participants can be found on San’s NaBloPoMo page as well as more information about this lovely initiative on this NaBloPoMo page.

It sounds like you had a very nice day. I did go to two more craft fairs with my daughter and grandson. He was making all the ladies smile and point because he insisted on walking all by himself. He’s 15 months old, so he isn’t the most stable. He would just go trotting down an aisle with the biggest grin and giggling the whole way. Thank goodness it wasn’t crowded, and we were able to give him the space to roam, because he was not enjoying the stroller. I picked up a nice cranberry scented candle and some toffee. Tried out a new, to us, Chinese restaurant for lunch. Will definitely go again. The portions were so big that I could make at least three meals out of it. All in all a very nice day indeed.

I am so glad you’re able to connect with your parents, but what a bummer that you can’t use Whatsapp anymore.

Tea (especially during the cooler month) definitely is a glimmer. So is yoga and mediation.

That is annoying that WhatsApp doesn’t work anymore! Ugh.

I loved The Names so much. It will make my best books of the year list. It is so very sad though!

I went for a 5 mile run with a friend I hadn’t seen in over 2 years and then we got coffee! And then I had the house to myself for the afternoon/early evening as Phil took the boys to his mom’s. I read, rested, ran errands, and worked on my puzzle. It was wonderful!

I got the idea from you re: the Names but dang it’s tragic. The evening sounds wonderful, so happy for you. I need to get some me time today before Tony goes away next week :/

I love these glimmers! Tea has been a big one for me lately. There’s something about the chill of the morning and a warm cup of tea that makes me feel like me. (Even when my daughter swipes the last few sips!)

Oh, no. I’m sorry you cannot use WhatsApp right now. That’s rotten. Cute photo of you and the kids. So sweet. Love the trip to buy candles and the walk.

Coach hopped on an earlier flight last night. He was in NC taking a class and he ended up coming home earlier than expected. Today I’m hoping everyone leaves me alone so I can get caught up on blog comments and start my Christmas poem, etc. Maybe order my Christmas cards.

I got The Names from BOTM, but I’m waiting until I’m in the right mood. I’ve heard it’s REALLY heavy and dark.

Glimmers: a nice nap (woke up and both my cats were near me!) and submitting a request to have Dec 24 – Jan 2 off work, yessss!
