After our trip to the City yesterday, we needed a down day. Here is what we did:

1. Tidy up. The kids and I did a speed-cleaning routine to reset the house. No deep cleaning but just folded the blankets, put the pillows back on the couch, put stuff away, like loose toys, books and other random items.

2. I rested. Like, truly rested, on the couch, with my book while the kids were upstairs or outside. I also read some blogs, read my book, and deleted my Facebook. I initially created it in 2023 to “promote” my blog but I haven’t logged in in about two years so why do I need it? Thank you and goodbye.

3. Time outside. Trampoline and crunchy leaves.

4. Laundry and ironing plus a few podcasts.

5. Friendly’s for lunch. The food was surprisingly good. Plus some ice cream, of course. We have eaten a despicable amount of sugar this week.

How was your Friday?

This month I am participating in #NaBloPoMo2025. A running list of participants can be found on San’s NaBloPoMo page as well as more information about this lovely initiative on this NaBloPoMo page.

I love the sibling photo. So cute. My Friday has been somewhat productive. I helped Curly input grades for a college application that requires kids to self report. No idea why this one school cannot look at a transcript like all the other schools. Such a waste of time. I worked out for two hours this morning and attended daily mass. tidied up a bit while I took a phone call from the girls’ social worker. Coach is on his way home, and we’ll probably go get a drink or something until the girls arrive home around 6:40 from therapy. Trying to stay on top of all of the blogs too. Enjoy your weekend.

Looks fun! My Friday was good, I had an appointment then I finished my Christmas shopping! Well, mostly. I still want some small things for stockings.

What a nice day! Why does everyone have off of school? I’m just curious.

You all deserved ice cream after cleaning and playing outside. It adds more fun to the day off.

Jenny, in New Jersey, the first week of November is the NJ Educator convention so all public schools are closed for Thursday and Friday. Which makes it a nice, long weekend. I can say I truly needed this time.

Mixing up busy days with down days is the best way to go I think. This looks nice and relaxing. When I first joined Facebook it was great—no ads and no algorithm. Now it is terrible, which is why I’ve deactivated my account (not deleting it so I can still use Messenger because we have a group of friends that use that to plan outings)

I use WhatsApp and guess what? It’s owned by the same company as Facebook! Ugh. Just can’t escape. But, like you said, my group of friends is on WhatsApp so I want to continue.

I love a relaxing, low-key day following a trip, even just a busy day trip! Yours sounded SO lovely, especially with two young kiddos.
