Complaints. Yesterday was NOT a good day and I’m here to complain about it. Privilege problems, I fully acknowledge that.

Firstly, it rained ALL day. The rain is good for my roses, but, holy smokes, it makes me depressed! And it wasn’t even a real rain, it was an annoying drizzle that gets onto your neck and soaks into your clothes. The world looked really grey. My eye balls needed to see sunlight.

We went to my school to finish setting up. I did as much as I could, with making one bulletin board and tying up some loose ends. I didn’t do the whole room because my colleague needs space for to put up her own stuff.

The new printers situation at work is infuriating. The instructions said “scan you id or enter the pin code off your paycheck” – none of those worked for me. Honestly, if you are implementing a new system for 100+ staff members at the beginning of a school year, can you please let least make sure it bloody works?..

One of the diamonds fell out of my engagement ring before the France trip. Thankfully, it happened during the cleaning, in the sonic jewelry cleaner that had “caught” the loose diamond. But, for a month I had a hole in my ring and it was bothering me A LOT! Yesterday the kids and I dropped the ring off to be fixed. Yessss.

My son was slacking at jiu jitsu yesterday. I reminded myself that we landed on Saturday so he is still getting over his jet lag.

Pebbles in my shoes

Start cleaning after construction since the contractors are finished (does not mean that the kitchen is finished).

Start putting stuff back, fill the new cabinets with dishes and pantry with dry goods.

Wipe+vacuum car

Car wash

Work on Shutterfly picture book for 2025

Organize my closet and chest of drawers

Conquer post-construction dust

Positives

An angry run this morning on our treadmill- it helped!

Ring dropped off to be fixed

The sun is out tomorrow

Possibly beach tomorrow

Pic on the front: a door from our kitchen pantry that was stripped on its many, many layers of paint. T found at least five different colors!

Oh the printer thing would be so frustrating. And rain is a real drag!

My pebble is the excessive whining from Taco. Paul and his big cousin took him out to the swim raft on the lily pad (big floating thing). He whined about getting splashed and being bumped around. I jumped into bring him back to shore, half way he changed his mind. Then he kept whining. Phil took him back to shore. Then he whined about Paul and his cousin not coming back in to play with him. Then we went on a pontoon ride to swim at a shallow spot and he wouldn’t get in the water and then whined about wanting to go back.

Whine whine whine whine whine!!! These kids don’t understand how good they have it! Well, Paul has been mostly pleasant. Taco has had good stretches but today the whining has been so over the top!!

I can’t come up with many pebbles today…I guess that we’re finishing up our week at the lake and I don’t like unpacking after adventures. So much mess everywhere and we’re tired but no one is motivated to clean up because the fun is over.

I can’t wait to see your kitchen makeover. I’m sure it will be BEAUTIFUL!

A friend of mine lost the diamond from her engagement ring in the bottom of a public pool and never found it. She looked and looked, but of course it was like finding a…diamond in a giant pool 😦

Lots of pebbles here. Pretty much everywhere I step, I am reminded of the multitude of tasks I need to do.

The printer situation sounds so frustrating!!!

ooh, going for an angry run is a good idea – I need to get myself out for a hike to help me get rid of all those pebbles.

Eek! Sometimes the “little things” just pile up and really are like pebbles in your shoes that you can’t get rid off… I am glad some of these things will be resolved soon.
