Thank you to all who fought in the US military operations. We honor your lives and sacrifice.

Yesterday was *almost* a total rest day for me. We woke up at our regular time – 6am-ish. Time with R, of course, so sweet but the my daughter came downstairs and she looked ashen. Me: “you okay, honey love?” L: “I’m nauseous.” I’ll spare you the details but after three times of ___, she felt better. So much better that she went on the trampoline! Amazing how kids recoup so much faster than adults.

At around 11, I felt all of my energy zapped out of me so I went to lie down and took a long nap. After checking my monthly tracking.. Sure enough, luteal phase. So I had to be extra gentle with myself. I rested in bed, read blogs, read current book, and rested with eyes closed. My window was open so I could hear birds the whole time and feel a cool breeze while I was under the blankets.

In late afternoon, I got up, and planted some sweet alyssum with the kids. It’s such an easy plant with white flowers but the scent is potent! Especially in summer after it rains.

T and I also started to watch the Pitt. I like it but I have a hard time following along when they get too jargon-y. Teachers do it, too- sgos, pdps, benchmarks, scaffolding up and down, abc, ieps, 504s, lmnops, xyzs..

Leaving you with a thought from my book… I struggle with “letting the moments pass” – look at my camera roll, my journal, and my blog.. But sometimes you can’t and shouldn’t document everything.

Do you hoard life? Or are you more easygoing about letting the moments pass?

Oh no! But I’m glad L recovered quickly. It does amaze me how fast kids can bounce back. (In this case, literally!)

I’d say I’m a mix of both. Sometimes I try to hold onto things with both hands instead of fully enjoying them and settling into the moment. Other times, I’m great at being present and enjoying the moment and then letting it pass and knowing other good things will come back around.

I’m so glad L feels better.

I’m guilty of waiting for time to pass so I can get to the next big thing. But I have no regrets about “documenting.” Sometimes, I’ll come across something I wrote down years ago about the kids that will make me smile.

Glad to hear your daughter was feeling better so quickly!

    Yay for naps!

I try to enjoy the moment without trying to capture it. On the other hand, I forget to take photos and write down important things – I wish I did more (because so much gets lost and forgotten…). I need to take more pictures of kids with grandparents.

It’s nice to have a day of rest. I managed to read more last weekend than I usually do and that was nice.

    Naps are amazing.

And so are kids bouncing back so quickly you can’t even grasp it.

Oh, my gosh – the “hoarding life” reading. What book did that come from? It really speaks to me. Also so glad that L’s whatever-it-was (something she ate?) was short lived. Whew.
