Random thoughts from this past weekend…

A pretty picture of winter sky and tree tops, at the Great Swamp reserve.

A three day weekend. Went to yoga two times.

Snowed again in Central New Jersey.

Saw a community theater play on Saturday night, hilarious and enjoyable. I loved it but T, since he is an actor, was more critical.

Dinner at a new (to us) restaurant before the play. Food was so-so.

Took a nice nap on Sunday, after the winter hike with the kiddos. Took a nap on Monday, when T and the kids went to the mall.

T is traveling next week. So it will be me and the kiddos. We have plenty of food, I just went grocery shopping a few days back.

Sunday night

T and I watched two movies. A Real Pain with Jesse Eisenberg and Kiernan Culkin. Two cousins travel to Poland as part of their Jewish cultural tour and to see their grandma’s house. The Last Showgirl with Pamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis. A film about aging, parenting and work sacrifices, and family relationships. I loved it.

That sounds like a wonderful weekend, very relaxing.

I had a mixture of things…Friday was running errands, Saturday was going to a funeral about an hour and a half away, Sunday was laundry and a movie (in the theater, with popcorn), today was chores and a trip to Costco, and trying to get caught up on blog reading.

I wanted to have a nap today because I woke up too early, but I was busy doing this and that and it didn’t happen. Hopefully that means I will sleep well toinght.

Your weekend looks lovely and the perfect mix of activity and down time. Brownies – YUM.

Also, I love that picture you took up into the trees. It would look amazing blown up on a wall!

    That’s a beautiful sunrise and snow-covered neighborhood!!!

Our weekend was… OK. It was a minimalist/survivalist kind of weekend, so light on fun stuff and heavy on cooking and laundry 🙂 Kids got to go sledding. One of my kids was at String Fest and had a concert on Saturday. Our youngest baked muffins (mostly by herself!). Midterms for the highschoolers are this week – so there was some studying. I read. We had cozy evenings with plenty of warm blankets, snacks and a few episodes of White Collar. I wish I could have played in the snow with kids, but at least I got outside and went for a walk.

The overall mood was just “meh”.

But – today is a whole new day! And I am hoping to take advantage of the beautiful freezing weather and go on a wintery hike during my lunch time!!!

I love brownies! To me, they are way better than cake! It seems like you had a good weekend and good for you for getting out in the snow for a walk! I sometimes procrastinate when the weather is bad, but I am always glad when I actually get out and do some outdoor activity!

WOW on your header photo! I’m going to try that perspective myself…

    A well-paced weekend is such a blessing!

My parents saw _A Real Pain_ and liked it, wonder if you did too?

I love it. I thought Kiernan Culkin did a fantastic job playing a guy who is honest to a fault but it must be so liberating.
