December 23, Monday.
I got up at 4:30, naturally, and came downstairs. Had about an hour to myself (amazing) before I heard the pat-pat sound of R’s feet coming down the stairs. During the first hour, I meditated, briefly journaled and made a loose plan for the day.

I’ve been promising my son Lucky Charms (a type of cereal with colorful marshmallows) and yesterday we bought Lucky Charms, because why not- it’s winter break… But we agreed that we will alternate Lucky Charms and oatmeal in the mornings. Once the box runs out- that’s it.

L came down shortly after R and we hung out while I had my coffee. Read the books and sang the 12 days of Christmas totally off key but together. Read some more books. Colored. Played Star Wars (Obi Wan is below).

I then went to yoga from 9:30 till about 11. It was a basic yoga class, easy but great nonetheless, with a sound healing session afterwards.
Lunch of borscht for me and off to library with the kids. The library was empty! We spent about 1 hour there. Then a stop at the wine store for tomorrow’s Christmas Eve party, and home.

At the house, I decided to watch a movie. “And Breathe Normally” was a film from Iceland which is why I picked it. It turned out to be a sad story about a single mother who is also a border patrol agent making friends with a person who crossed over the border with a falsified passport.

From 4 to 6 it was chaotic: dinner, showers, piano, playing, books. They also made a city in a cardboard box.
This post is part of my personal writing challenge to document our winter break of this year.
