Stomach flu is here. We all, except L, have it. R was throwing up yesterday and this morning, T is reporting feelings of queasiness, and me… I’ve been having awful belly cramps, body aches, chills and bone crushing fatigue since yesterday afternoon. Today I took a sick day.

After consulting with Dr. Google we determined that it’s not food poisoning but some kind of gastrointestinal virus. Food poisoning is sudden, and comes on with what seems like non-stop tossing of cookies, often from both ends (pardon the nasty metaphor).

A stomach flu is gradual (I was kind of okay Sunday morning but felt progressively worse) and is accompanied by belly cramps (check), chills(check), muscle aches (check), and head aches (check). Out of three people, I had it the worst. But! Am feeling better compared to how I was feeling 24 hours ago.

This past weekend was half and half. Saturday was great, Sunday we were sick.

Saturday had the usual activities: yoga for me, gymnastics for the kids. L had her weekly piano lesson.

After R’s skating lesson, we went straight to a live theater play at the State Theater in New Brunswick. We saw Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland which encompassed holiday songs, acrobatic numbers, and audience interaction. And, a thing of popcorn and a holiday sword, each costing a couple of grand. I usually do not buy merch at the theater, EVER. But, I did this time.

Oh no!!! Stomach bugs are so horrible! I hope L avoids it. The less people puking the better, of course! Will had a stomach bug this fall and has finally figured out how to throw up in a bucket, thank goodness. But gah it’s a rough thing to deal with!

Your Saturday sounded great though!! That event sounded so fun!!

    That show looks amazing.

Ugh, you have had more than your fair share of bugs lately. I hope everyone is feeling 100% for Christmas. I’m always a bit wary when my kids AREN’T sick the last week of school because inevitably it means someone will get sick over Christmas. (We have a tradition of someone always being sick – except the first year of COVID – and it is a tradition I would love to abolish.)

Not stomach flu! So sorry to hear. Glad you are on the mend now. Saturday sounds great, well done R sitting through that performance, and what a cool light sword! Lucky boy! E has been sick this week, and O last week, so hopefully we are past anything come Christmas. And you too!
