Tonight I am sharing a picture of November 25, 2020. L was 3, R was not yet a year old. The pandemic was still here, T working from home, me- teaching in person, with a mask on. That was a hard, hard year, as many of you can probably remember. We survived.

Where were you in November of 2020?

On this day, in 2020

That was such a hard year. That month particularly was hard, I remember my kids were back at school but classes were regularly “going online” if a kid tested positive, so it was just a nightmare of refreshing email every day.

Contrary to many many people and families 2020 was one of the best years for me.
I had the least migraines ever in my life, I had lots of time with the husband. I read a ton of books.

I even managed to sign a new client in July and that one I worked for until fall 2023. I have not an and thing to say about 2020 to be honest or my brain has it all blocked out.

I am sorry it was so hard for you. And I always said I was never happier to not have kids as in these years. So you have my sympathies.

October of 2022 we were finally released from our extreme lockdown after our long hard winter. By November we were just starting to get back to a new kind of normal

I can only imagine how difficult the early days of the pandemic were for parents with young kids! And teachers! One of my friends is a teacher and she REALLY struggled with the online learning part of the pandemic. She was glad to get back into the classroom even if she had to teach with a mask on. (But she teaches kindergarten/1st grade, so a MUCH different experience than teaching high schoolers!)

Uff, yes, 2020 was hard in many ways and I am sure it was particularly hard being a teacher and having young kids. I was able to work from home and “enjoyed” the slowed down life quite a bit, but only because I had the luxury of only having to take care of myself (and my husband).
