Karen reflected on Black Friday so that go me thinking…

Do I NEED anything? Of course not. Do I WANT a few covered pieces? Why, yes. Nothing overly expensive but not cheap, either. I am stingy by nature but I do not mind spending money on quality stuff, once in a while.

This morning I made a list of brands/websites that I will visit and possibly purchase from:

L.L. Bean. There are some button-down shirts I like. Say, this one. Or this?

Nordstroms. I still have not purchased my green velvet dress but who knows? Maybe I will. Also, they have a Bernardo winter coat that I’ve been wanting for a while.

Pottery Barn. They have pillow cases with cats on them!! How can one resist?

Amazon. No wish list items here but I will still take a peek. T will order all the gifts for the kids for Christmas.

Sephora. I use plant-based squalene face products (Biossance) and will see if those will go on sale.

And that is IT. No impulse purchases. Will not go to the mall. It feels to me that Black Friday is not a DAY but a MONTH since many stores already have reduced their prices weeks before actual Black Friday. I might as well purchase the LL Bean shirt now instead of waiting for Black Friday.

What about you? Black Friday or Buy Nothing Day?

I doubt I will buy anything on Friday…maybe for Cyber Monday? We’ll see. There’s nothing that I really want, though I could use some face cream soon, and I know that will be on sale. I may look for some online deals for things my brother wants. Your coat is on sale, I would buy it now so you can make sure they still have it in your size.

I have some things in my Amazon cart for Paul but will likely buy them before then. I am kind of grouchy about Black Friday and gift lists and such. I do not love the gift focus of the Christmas season. But I also know I was excited for presents as a kid… so it’s a balance. I think Black Friday is a great time to get things you’ve been wanting to get but at a reduced price. I got car seats on previous Black Fridays and encouraged my family to get a BOB stroller for me as their baby/shower gift when I was pregnant with Paul. They got a massive discount on it. But beyond that I don’t like browsing sales because it will tempt me to buy things I probably don’t need.

This year I’m in the buy nothing category. I can’t bear going into stores on Black Friday! I don’t have anything in mind to buy online, so if I do, it’ll be an impulse buy! I hope I can resist!

I have had a few electronics in my Amazon cart for about a month and will buy them no matter what, but am hoping that they go down in price so I can buy them for less. They are things that I need though, and so I will have to buy them no matter what. Other than that, I will not be buying anything, and definitely will not be going into any stores.

I will only buy things I need or if it is a possible present. I really don’t need much.

Right now my amazon cart has batteries which are on sale for 40% and a phone wallet attachment the husband has on the wishlist that is 50%. I have not yet ordered though.

I am hoping one of the bathroom mirrors on our wishlist is going on sale because after almost 20 month in this apartment we still don’t have a real mirror in the mast bathroom.

    Hahahaha…. that card is HILARIOUS.

I actually work on Black Friday, so I don’t even think of it as a shopping day! I agree with you- “Black Friday” is really like a month-long thing right now. I’ll definitely be buying plenty- just not necessarily on Friday.

I am not actively Black Friday shopping for sure… spent way too much money lately LOL but I did take advantage and got an extra deal on holiday cards that I’ll hopefully order this weekend.
