1. We have rain!!!!!!! After two months of drought in NJ where water conservation requirement was issued (!) we have rain! I honestly am so happy. Our trees and bushes really needed it. Yes, it’s cold, yes, it gets into your collar, but still, happy to have it!

2. Teachers gifts. I am a teacher myself so I like to purchase gifts for my kids’ teachers for the holidays.

L’s teachers (3) artsy magnets from Etsy. Teachers put stuff on magnetic boards all the time and need strong magnets. Those are works of art! I am actually a bit jelly 😉

I think got deep blue, deep gray, and rainbow?…

R’s preschool teachers that are also his aftercare teachers (3): cozy socks + cash.

R’a preschool staff (family workers, janitors, cafeteria staff, etc): a crate of cookies from Cheryl’s Cookies.

Cheryl’s cookies are just the best

L’s aftercare teachers (3): holidays cards with cash.

L’s piano teacher (1): ☝️need something meaningful.

Will be sure to have L write messages and sign cards. R will probably just write his name on the card.

We don’t do handmade gifts because I am just not handy. Plus I don’t have patience for crafts either.

3. Morning routine update. I’ve been up at around 4:30am ever since I wrote a post lamenting my lack of morning routine. And it’s been wonderful. I sat in silence, had my coffee, read my novel, did weights for upper body. I did not run around like a chicken whose head is missing. It’s been only four days but I truly hope to continue.

Around 3am, R came downstairs and continued his dream in the living room.

NaBloPoMo 2024 is here, and this post is part of it. Join me and other awesome bloggers in this challenge!

Taco does not realize he can get out of his bed! It can be annoying but mostly it’s a good thing. He will yell during the night for us if he needs to be covered by his blanket again, though…

Last year a room parent organized a gift for Paul’s K teacher. But I am not sure if there is a room parent this year and I don’t have the capacity to volunteer… we can only give something like $5 per district rules if we don’t do a combined gift. So I am hoping someone is planning something. For the after care we get them all Starbucks gift cards. For daycare we give cash to his teachers.

I just got back to Mn and it is SO COLD! It was gorgeous in NYC this week. It was rainy today but a warm rain at least. It’s in the 30s here now! Winter has arrived….

Oh, those magnets are gorgeous. The box of cookies also is very cute, yum! Go you, getting up at that horrifying hour to do your morning routine. Very impressive.

A friend of mine made magnets just like that as party favors for another friend’s baby shower. I would assume they are not too hard to make and they are very cute! Those cookies look delicious, but it is hard not to eat the entire batch/box! I love the pic of R snuggled on the couch. I love waking up early but being able to get back to sleep. Usually when I wake at 3, I stay up, but those times when I can fall back asleep are great!

That’s lovely that you’ve got that early morning me-time, that’s what I try to do most mornings and love it – well, minus the weights.

great ideas for the teacher presents. I’ll just do holiday cards and cash for the main teachers, and a box of chocolates for the support teachers at the daycare. Plus cash for our cleaner too, and a small gift for each of my team at work.

Those are such thoughtful and beautiful gifts!

When we lived in NJ, a class mom made everyone contribute to a gigantic gift and that was nice too.
