We are back from Lancaster, Co., PA!

This morning, we were up early as per usual. I read, they played, watched cartoons, did Legos. After breakfast (a lot of NJ people staying on the farm!), we packed up the car and explored the Central market in Lancaster-city.

Fresh produce

The Central Market is a big farmers market in the center of Lancaster. I saw many interesting goods being sold there: cheeses, breads, meats, vegetables, candy, fruits, as well as dry goods and even crafts! We bought a few things to bring home: a loaf of bread, two pies, some sausage links, chocolates, granola, and I also had a very good cup of coffee there.

There were personal care products such as soaps, cleaning supplies, lotions and things that may fall into “self-care” category: tinctures, balms, salves, oils, etc. One thing in common- all small businesses local to the Lancaster area.

I wish we could stay longer and buy more things but the kids were getting cranky so we needed to hit the road back to good old New Jersey.

I have some road trip lessons I wanna share but I’ll leave them for another day- I am tiiiired.

I think I would have been in heaven and could have browsed all day if I was there. Good thing for my pocket book that I’m not. What a wonderful experience.

I remember going to Farmer’s Markets outside of Philadelphia that looked a lot like that, mostly Amish farmers and artisans. Looking at your picture brings back memories.

What a fun place to stroll and shop. Sorry the kids got cranky and cut that short.

I am always in the market for a good handmade soap! My Mom used to get one from the farmer’s market near her and would give them to us for Christmas and that was my favorite. Unfortunately, I think they went out of business, and we have yet to find a good replacement!
