This weekend is my LAST weekend before having a full week of teaching. Tomorrow I am meeting the students! All is set, and all is ready but I feel nervous every year. I know the students will be nervous, too. But, first day jitters are entirely normal.
Today I have a house to myself for a few hours: R is at his friend’s house, L is another friend’s house with T. And I am home alone! Chili is slowly cooking itself on the stove, the house is borderline picked up, and I am writing this post.
The last weekend of summer was good. We ended up not going to the beach but instead stayed local. The nail salon to get our toes painted. The mall, milkshakes and Barnes and Noble. On Sunday we went hiking and got candles and soaps at Bath and Body Works. Plus, playgrounds. Always. Yoga on Friday and Saturday and got laundry under some kind of control.

Oh, and, and, and!… The back stairs are completely finished and oh, they look classy!!! Now we can walk safely and nobody will fall through.

One last thing that I want to share is that we took our annual family picture! T is a YouTuber and has the equipment to take nice photos without the need to hire a photographer. We took about 100 pictures, a variety of combinations, together, separate, pairs, T and I, the kids and us, the kids alone, etc. Here is one:

Just for kicks, here are the 2023 and 2022 annual pictures.

September
Self:
I go back to teaching, full time, every day, from 7:30AM till 3PM.
I want/need to keep up with my yoga practice, aiming for three times a week. In addition to regular yoga, I signed up for 1. Reiki and 2. Soulful Sunday workshops at my yoga studio. Those are given on weekends and are outside of your membership.
Wake up earlier: 5:30 to ground myself and have time to myself in the morning. Meaning: I have to go to bed earlier.
Family:
Back to school for everyone!
Three different back-to-school nights: one for me, one for L, one for R.
Piano, gymnastics for L
BJJ and gymnastics for R.
Work: get to know students, build routines for them and myself. Be more efficient at work, not be a slave to email. Don’t even have it open while I am working on something else, i.e. lesson plans.
Pic on the front: me and L fooling around.
