Today was a Path of Gods hike. I was initially supposed to bring L but I’m glad I didn’t – the hike is for more resilient kids. I meant it with absolute love but she could not have done it.
The basics:
1. The hike is about three hours
2. The trail is manageable- not all stairs but intermittent up, flat, down, and so on. Some moderate climbing. The path is uneven, was narrow, and at some sections came dangerously close to the edge.
3. Hiking shoes/sneakers are a must as well as paying attention where you are going.
4. The views are incredible, I took a million pictures.
5. There are water fountains with drinking water all along the trail.
6. From our base in Minori, I had to take a boat to Amalfi, then a minivan to Agierola up the mountain where the trail starts. I hiked the trail till the end, then took a bus down the mountain to Positano. I wanted to walk to Positano and I’m glad I didn’t – you share the road with cars, and I was already tired.
7. In Positano you take a boat back to your base.
8. Interestingly, you have Internet at some sections of the trail.
The trail has a variety of landscapes:

I emerged from the hike in Nocelle village and stopped by a local market. Essentially, one room and some chairs and tables. An old lady was cutting some bread. I asked her to make me a sandwich, so she did: bread, prosciutto, mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, olive oil. Delicious. Seven euros for everything, cash only.

I left the house at 8:30 and came back at 5. That is with alllll the ferry transfers. It was a long day, in the heat, hiking. I am feeling pleasantly tired. But I didn’t think I could sweat like that.
T stayed back in Minori with the kids, and they roamed around town and went to the beach, the playground, and got ice cream.
Yesterday I was raving about dinner. Well, tonight we had yet another amazing dinner at a different restaurant. The restaurant is located right under our Airbnb building. We passed it many times and decided to give it a try tonight.

All of the food was very good but the highlight was the catch of the day.
At the beginning of the meal, the waiter moves a table next to you, and the table is covered with a cloth. They remove the cloth and under the cloth are fishes caught locally. Different types. That is the catch of the day. They explain what the fishes are, and how they can be prepared.
So I decided to have the catch of the day, a red fish, and it was divine. Served with potatoes and tomatoes in a sauce they referred to as “crazy sauce.”I should have written the name of that fish down..
I didn’t expect this but we had the chef bring out the red fish on a big platter and make the two plates for T and I. It felt special. When it was time to serve the fish’s head, the chef goes to T “do you want the head?” T goes “sure” so he got the fish head.

Our refrigerator is full of left-overs and tomorrow we are cleaning them up for lunch.
Dessert was something that R called “the beach” – some ice cream with a cookie and an umbrella.

The restaurant had a dog named Luna and the kids were in love. Except when L took a step back and stepped on Luna, and Luna shrieked, and L got super upset and started crying. She felt bad that she hurt the dog but it was an accident. Never a dull moment.
