Ready to eat!

This Thanksgiving was really nice. The kids were up early (shocker) and played for the major part of the morning when T and I pranced around the house to clean it.

T started cooking around 10am. He made turkey, sweet and mashed potatoes, corn, biscuits, and gravy. Our two friends brought green beans and a cheesy broccoli dish. To drink, we had cider and sangria. For dessert, we had two pies: pumpkin and apple, plus some whipped cream.

After the meal we had a “sobremesa” for a while, had tea, moved into the living room, more conversations there. I felt so cozy all day- I was in my house, with my healthy family, two loving friends, eating delicious food and having conversations.

How about you? Did you host people at your house? We’re you invited somewhere?

Look how CUTE you guys are! We stayed home being Canadian, lol. My son is in the U.S. and was tentatively planning to drive somewhere, but instead he went to a friend’s house the weekend before and over-partied a bit and, having just presented his thesis proposal, decided to have a chill long weekend by himself instead. Good food and good friends are exactly what holidays should be all about, in my opinion.

That sounds like a lovely, low-key Thanksgiving, Daria. I am so happy for you.
We had a low-key day as well. I was just Jon and me. We went for a walk and made a nice dinner.
