My weekend started on Friday. I took that day off work to go to my annual physical appointment. I then used the rest of the day as an “almost” shouldless day.

On Friday night, we had a sitter come and stay with the kids so my husband and I could go out to dinner and see a movie.

Friday night

Saturday was BUSY but pleasantly busy.

I survived my first ever cycling class! It kicked my butt but in a good way. I’m doing it again.

The kids went to gymnastics while I stayed at the house.

We then went back to the Y for some swimming in the afternoon.

Then I took a nap and read the Relaxed woman.

THEN, my daughter and I went to the theater. We saw Sa Dance company perform “Rise” – a visual dance story, with elements of dance, music, and spoken word. In essence, what it’s like to be an Indian girl and then woman and the struggles that arise. I cried my makeup off. The story could be applied to any nationality. Many audience member sat their with their daughters, big and small.

Our Sunday was much more low-key but stressful.

I wanted to go skating with the kids but when the kids found out that we will NOT be stopping by at Friendly’s, they did not want to go. Little sell-outs.

They ended up bumming around the house, getting into everything, arguing and overall being miserable.

All I said was: “Guys. We could have gone skating.”

While the kids were busy sitting in their respective rooms (we had to separate them), I freshened up the upstairs and downstairs by dusting, vacuuming and mopping. Love me a nice, clean space.

Sunday lunch: fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, edamame and a turkey burger

My word of the year is DELIGHT so here is what delighted me this past weekend:

Sa Dance performance, all of it

The scent of Murphy’s oil

A nap

My red lipstick

Chocolate at the theater

Cycling class instructor Grace

Anaconda movie

Receiving a good health report from my primary doctor after the annual physical

That dance performance sounds amazing!! I live in an area where there are many cool/interesting performances, but I don’t usually look them up. Something to keep in mind, for sure. Things that delighted me lately: going for coffee with just one daughter, a new pasta recipe that was really good, playing hide and seek with my youngest who is too impatient to wait for you to find her and runs out shouting “here I am!”
