My daughter is eight today. She and Stephany (Hi Stephany!) are birthday twins. Happy birthday to both of you!

I always get a little emotional on birthdays/important days, and this one was no different. L is growing up to be such a lovely human being; kind, compassionate, smart, and, for the most part, responsible. She is doing tremendously well in school, puts in effort and listens to feedback (mainly from me). She loves gymnastics and skates, and tolerates piano (albeit being very good at it). Her favorite food is sushi, sweets- mochi ice cream. Her hobbies are drawing/tracing/coloring, reading, and dress up (especially in my high heel shoes). She loves learning about different cultures and countries as well as travel. She also likes makeup, which is surprising since I use very little makeup. She is very much into K-pop demon hunters and has their songs memorized. She is interested in money, how to make it, spend it, save it, or grow it. She oscillates between being a doctor, an artist, a nail tech, and a Bath and Body Works employee.
She was up at around 6:00 am and went downstairs. I then came down shortly after, made coffee and wished her a very happy 8th birthday. After a while my husband and son came downstairs and L opened her birthday gifts.
We took her out to sushi lunch since it’s her favorite food. For dessert: tempura green tea ice cream and mochi ice cream with candles. It was SO good.
We came home to rest and fold laundry, then my son had a jiu jitsu sesh in the afternoon. Leftovers for dinner, candles in a donut that she picked out, showers, more play, books, and bed. Tomorrow it’s L’s friend party: pizza and cake, with 7 kids of her age coming over.

This month I am participating in #NaBloPoMo2025. A running list of participants can be found on San’s NaBloPoMo page as well as more information about this lovely initiative on this NaBloPoMo page.
