1 my maternal grandmother so we could meet. She passed the year I was born and, according to pictures, I look very much like her.

2 my maternal grandfather, a German POW who ended up in the Soviet Union. I also would like to meet him.

3 the late Queen Elizabeth

4 Barack Obama

5 Oprah Winfrey

Quite a group but I’m sure we will find some things to talk about.

We would meet at a restaurant in Little Italy, NYC, some place private, kind of dark, with an old piano. Annie Lennox can be playing the piano.

Who would you invite to dinner?

Some pictures from today:

L’s birthday gifts, before we wrapped them. A slime kit, books, a star dress, and a pink Pusheen (that one is from R)
Tenure celebration tonight- a total of 28 teachers received tenure for the entire district. Felt validating.
Rumi aka Thanksgiving turkey

This month I am participating in #NaBloPoMo2025. A running list of participants can be found on San’s NaBloPoMo page as well as more information about this lovely initiative on this NaBloPoMo page.

    Congrats on the tenure!

I remember Unicorn Academy! That takes me back ❤

I feel like I’d love to have dinner with so many people but also that I’m horrible at small talk with someone that intimidates me. So I think my top pick would be to get all of my close blogger friends around a table together. I think it would be so, so lovely!!!! ❤ I’ve gotten to do it in small ways hosting blog friends in my home, but I think a retreat together would be A DREAM!

Love all your answers! This is a question I never feel like I can answer because I am so shy, I feel like I would be so deeply uncomfortable at dinner with my heroes they would leave thinking I was a huge, unlikable weirdo.

Nice answers, Daria! I would have a dinner party with Eckhart Tolle, who would make the whole atmosphere very calm and pleasant, and everyone would feel at ease, including me! I’d invite artists Mary Enelbreit, Ronnie Walter, Lisa Kubenez, and Rebel Challenger, and we’d all visit and draw and paint.

I hate when I read a post in the car and don’t have time to comment and the next day think- WAIT? DID I? I’m back . . .

This is tough. I’d probably say Amy poehler. Mother Theresa. My friend Joe who passed away in 2021, way too early. My recently deceased uncle Mike. And maybe all four of my grandparents – if I could count them as one, too hard to pick just one of them.
