This morning we did a Sendero dei Limoni- the Lemon Walk. It runs from Minori to Maiori, two neighboring towns, and takes about one hour to complete. For us, it was close to two hours.

Stairs. So many stairs. It makes sense because you are going up and down the side of a mountain. It’s not all stairs, there are some flat sections, too so that allows your legs to rest for a bit.

So many stairs

The views are beautiful! The higher you go, the more you can see. You see the turquoise water, boats of different sizes, fruit orchards, people’s houses, and churches. All that works together in harmony.

Along the path lemon farms are selling all things lemons: marmalade, “granita”(slushies), lemonade, and, of course, lemons. The lemons are HUGE in size. Twice as big as the ones we buy at the supermarket in New Jersey.

Look at the size of it!

Along the path, you see hanging grapes, figs and lemons. We also met about seven cats! The kids were in love.

L is in heaven

Once we emerged in Maiori, we went to a pastry shop to recharge with some juices for the kids, coffee for T and I, and treats – for everybody.

Pastry shaped as a lemon 🍋

Essentially, you then walk back to Minori the way you came but the kids were worn out. So instead, we took a boat back, and it was the right decision.

Taking a break on the path of lemons

After coming back to the apartment, we relaxed for a few hours, then decided to hit the beach. R went into water up to his neck! I’m mentioning this because R is not a water person (like me) so this shows that he is growing.

Dinner was at a restaurant across from our apartment. The food was average. R was so tired, he ended up falling asleep at the table! We had a rather busy day and he wouldn’t nap. The end result: Mr. Cranky Pants.

At the beginning
At the end

T had to carry R all the 124 stairs while L and I went out for gelato.

Everything looks delicious. Jet lag is so tough, but you’re making so many great memories and it looks like the cranky moments are few and far between.

Excellent call on taking the boat. We walked waayyyy too much when we did Toronto/New York City with the kids and learned our lesson. In Barcelona we took the subway every day. We still walked plenty, but it was more meandering (with stops for food along the way)!

Oh wow that food looks amazing! I love seeing such a real picture of travel with littles – it sounds like such an adventure. R asleep at the table is very cute too, although I imagine the proceeding few hours was less cute. Thank you for your travel recaps and enjoy your holiday!

Also my kids would LOVE to take a boat! Even if it wasn’t to avoid walking.

Good call to take the boat back! You still got a ton of steps in. The pic of R sleeping at dinner is so sweet but I imagine to lead up to him falling asleep was not pleasant. The pastries look so good! And the lemons are huge – kind of like how avocados are massive in regions where they are grown. Probably like 3+ x’s the size of the ones we buy here at grocery stores.

That walk sounds beautiful – but also hard! I think I would struggle with it, haha. But if I could encounter cats along the way, it would be worth it. 😉
